You will need:

Yellow card
Egg box (cardboard not plastic)

Orange paint
Green garden canes
Sellotape

What to do

1. Cut out one cup from the egg box and paint it with the orange paint (DO NOT paint the outside top edge as this is going to be glued to the card, but don’t worry if you paint it by mistake, it will just take longer to dry before you can stick it to the yellow flower shape). Leave to dry. Note: it can be hard to find egg boxes with the right sort of cups these days – we ended up making ours from 2 half cups. See the pictures below for more details.

2. Download the flower template (click on the link below, it will open in a new window as a PDF format image), print it out, cut it out and draw around it onto the yellow card. If your printer can handle it, you can save yourself some work here by printing straight onto the card. Cut the flower out.

3. Use sticky tape on the back of the flower to attach it to the garden cane. This will be the daffodils' stalk.

4. Glue the painted egg cup to the centre of the flower and leave to dry.
